Celebrate Burns Night in style
Date: 29.11.2017
Time to dust off the tartan as The White Lion celebrates Burns Night - not once but twice!

The traditional evening takes place on Robert Burn’s (famous Scottish poet) birthday which is the 25th January – the idea is to eat, drink, dance and to be merry!

The White Lion’s Head Chef, James Barber, and his team have put together a delicious three-course meal for all to enjoy on both Wednesday 25th and Saturday 28th January 2018.

Over 200 years ago, whisky has been the go to drink which accompanies the Burns Night Supper before toasting the legend himself.

Interesting facts about Robert Burns:

Robert Burns’ ‘Auld Lang Syne’ is recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as ome of the top three most popular songs in the English language alongside Happy Birthday and ‘For he’s a jolly good fellow’

Michael Jackson was a huge fan of Robert Burns and its claimed that the smash-hit Thriller was inspired by Burns’ Tom O’Shanter poem

There are more statues dedicated to Robert Burns around the world than any other non-religious figure, after Queen Victoria and Christopher Columbus.

Robert Burns was the first person to ever to feature on a commemorative bottle of Coca Cola in 2009.
