Date: 01.06.2018
Come and experience the famous Aldeburgh Festival.

8-24 June 2018

The world famous Aldeburgh Festival was founded by composer Benjamin Britten and singer Peter Pears in 1948 as 'a modest festival with a few concerts given by friends'.

Today, 70 years on it's not just a highlight for the local area, but one of the world's leading classical music events.

Venues range from the same churches and halls in and around Aldeburgh used by Britten in the 1940s and 50s to the Snape Maltings Concert Hall, a nineteenth-century industrial building converted into what has become one of the world’s most-loved concert halls.

Opening the festival will be Britten, Bernstein & America on Friday 8 June at 7pm with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Then throughout the 16 music filled days enjoy the likes of the John Wilson Orchestra Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Claire Chase, Sir Bryn Terfel, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, The Sixteen, Tamara Stefanovich, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Le Concert Spirituel, John Wilson Orchestra, Alina Ibragimova, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Belcea Quartet, Anne-Sophie von Otter, Piatti Quartet and Cédric Tiberghien.

And this year's news includes £10 tickets for every performance.
