Christmas starts at the White Lion as soon as your arrive on the Suffolk coast
. A three night Christmas break in Aldeburgh will be full of laughter, great food and unbeatable sea views.
Your Full Board Christmas Break at the White Lion
Arrive on Christmas Eve from 2pm and indulge in an afternoon tea served in the comfort of our lounge. We start the evening off at 5pm with a 2 minute walk to Aldeburgh Cinema where you will enjoy a short festive film, followed by canapés, carol singers, mulled Aspall cider and mince pies in the foyer before you return back to the hotel.
From 7.30pm you will sit down to sumptuous 5-course dinner served in the splendid Victorian-themed James Cable Room. After dinner, enter into the house party spirit and dance to our live band, Pea Green, until Midnight.
Midnight Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, five minute’s walk from the hotel. Return for a hot beverage or night cap served in the Bar.

Roast artichoke soup with truffle oil
Salmon cannelloni, dill potato salad, cucumber relish
Honey & parsley ham hock terrine, homemade piccalilli and toasted focaccia bread
Orange sorbet & cranberry compote
Maple syrup roasted pork fillet, dauphinoise potato, carrot puree, apple jus
Pan fried bream fillet, lemon crushed potatoes, garlic greens, prawn butter

A Bucks Fizz breakfast will be served in the Brasserie from 8-10am.
At 1.15pm, all of our guests sit down together for a traditional 7-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings served in the Brasserie.
A traditional hot and cold buffet will be served in the Bar & Brasserie
for our resident guests from 7pm. Throughout the evening, our resident pianist will play some festive classics.

Chicken and tarragon terrine, celeriac remoulade, cranberry compote
Sutton Hoo chicken broth
Smoked trout and horseradish pate, orange & watercress salad
Roast Suffolk Bronze turkey with all the trimmings and a rich gravy
Butternut squash and feta cheese tart, spiced tomatoes lentils and frizzy salad
Roasted Sirloin of beef with all the trimming and thyme jus
Pan fried sea bass, saffron potatoes, roast fennel, and chilli cream
Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and cinnamon ice-cream

Breakfast is served in the Brasserie from 8-10am. At 11am, wrap yourselves up warm and watch a group of swimmers, including our General Manager, Peter Osborne, as they brave the freezing North Sea to raise money for charity, or in a few cases, for the sheer fun of it!

This morning we say goodbye to our guests after a scrumptious Suffolk breakfast from 8-10am and for those guests staying on come and enjoy dinner this evening in the relaxed setting of our Bar and Brasserie.
