Your Full Board Christmas Break at the White Lion
Arrive on Christmas Eve from 2pm and indulge in an afternoon tea served in the comfort of our lounge. We start the evening off at 5pm with a 2 minute walk to Aldeburgh Cinema where you will enjoy a short festive film, followed by canapés, carol singers, mulled Aspall cider and mince pies in the foyer before you return back to the hotel.
From 7.30pm you will sit down to sumptuous 5-course dinner served in the splendid Victorian-themed James Cable Room. After dinner, enter into the house party spirit and dance to our live band, Pea Green, until Midnight.
Midnight Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, five minute’s walk from the hotel. Return for a hot beverage or night cap served in the Bar.
Christmas Eve Dinner Menu
Leek, potato and onion soup with rosemary garlic croutons
Whiskey cured salmon gravadlax with tarragon and honey hollandaise
Confit gammon and apricot terrine with piccalilli and toasted sour dough
Cranberry gin and tonic sorbet
Sutton Hoo chicken breast, forestière sauce, Aspall cider fondant potato and fine beans
Baked sea bass and dill herb gnocchi with pea, sugar snap champagne veloute
Green thunder arancinni risotto balls with ratatouille and pomme paille
Fresh fruit cocktail with mandarin and cointreau sorbet
Cinnamon pannacotta, vanilla short-bread
Dark chocolate and hazelnut mousse with marshmallow sauce
Coffee and mince filo crackers
A Bucks Fizz breakfast will be served in the Brasserie from 8-10am.
At 1.15pm, all of our guests sit down together for a traditional 7-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings served in the Brasserie.
A traditional hot and cold buffet will be served in the Bar & Brasserie
for our resident guests from 7pm. Throughout the evening, our resident pianist will play some festive classics.

Bucks fizz on arrival
Sutton Hoo chicken broth
Maple bacon, black pudding
Poached egg tart glazed with béarnaise sauce
St Clements sorbet
Cod wrapped in Parma ham with herby mash, mint pea puree and chorizo
Horseradish, thyme, honey glazed beef, roast potatoes, herb buttered vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and madeira jus
Roast Suffolk bronze turkey with all the trimmings and red wine jus
Goats cheese, red onion and tomato crown served with dressed leaves and new potatoes
Profiteroles and vanilla cream served with warm dark chocolate sauce
Mulled Aspall cider jelly and ice-cream
Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and cinnamon ice-cream
Coffee and vanilla fudge
Breakfast is served in the Brasserie from 8-10am. At 11am, wrap yourselves up warm and watch a group of swimmers, including our General Manager, Peter Osborne, as they brave the freezing North Sea to raise money for charity, or in a few cases, for the sheer fun of it!

Pate Maison with candied onion marmalade and toasted brioche
Goats cheese panacotta with sweet pickled beetroot relish

Honey glazed Suffolk pork loin cutlet with sweet pickled red cabbage, creamed potatoes and Aspall cider shallot sauce
Smoked tomato, parmesan, field mushroom and red pesto gnocchi
Pan-seared ox liver with maple cured Suffolk bacon, seasonal greens and onion gravy
Boozy trifle with spiced short-bread
Passion fruit tartlet with citrus sorbet
Brandied orange sponge pudding with hot chocolate sauce and cinnamon ice-cream

This morning we say goodbye to our guests after a scrumptious Suffolk breakfast from 8-10am and for those guests staying on come and enjoy dinner this evening in the relaxed setting of our Bar and Brasserie.
