French Cuisine and Gaelic Tradition
Posted by: White Lion
It is arguably one of the most important and influential cuisines of the world, and one which has become the benchmark of modern cooking and culinary standards...
This is of course the food of the French.
French cuisine is relatively modest with bold, hearty and layered flavours celebrating honest food and ingredients. It is all about matching perfectly-balanced, big flavours with passion and skill. So important has it become that mastering the various skilled culinary techniques and recipes is now the core training for chefs of all levels across Europe and the world, often referred to as ‘classical training’.
From bouillabaisse, coq au vin and steak frites to quiche, soufflé and pastries, French cuisine has inspired menus for generations and is something we here at The White Lion in Aldeburgh are equally proud to celebrate. So much in fact that we are hosting our very own Bastille Night
in which the best of French food and delicacy will be celebrated, with live cookery classes, great entertainment and the choice of a delicious two or three-course meal.
Join us and our staff (who will be wearing French attire!) at our Suffolk Hotel
as we share with you the finest Gaelic tradition. The Can Can girls will also be returning!
