A Taste of France and Riviera Temperatures

A Taste of France and Riviera Temperatures at Aldeburgh’s ‘Moules et Boules’. A sea of berets and striped t-shirts was the scene on Aldeburgh’s sunny beach on Saturday 20th July 2013 when The White Lion Hotel hosted its popular Moules et Boules event.
A charming game of boules, plates of steaming mussels, free entertainment and a beer tent attracted visitors, locals and supporters of the teams taking part in the boules event.
The fiercely competitive charity knock-out boules competition was won by The White Lion with a bespoke trophy made by J T Pegg from Aldeburgh who made the famous Maggi Hambling Scallop Sculpture the sought after prize.
The event was raising funds for local Suffolk charities East Anglian Air Ambulance and Aldeburgh United Charities.
Peter Osborne, General Manager at The White Lion comments: “The third annual Moules et Boules brought a taste of France to the Suffolk coast, with 32 teams dressed-up in stripes and spectators enjoying plates of mussels and fabulous beers. Thanks to all who attended and helped the profile of petanque as a sport while supporting our chosen charities.”
With the addition of two more boules pistes later this year at Aldeburgh, next year’s Moules et Boules is set to be even bigger. To register your interest, please contact us.
